In the first incident, police booked Aditya Jatin Arora (21), a resident of Lodha Fiorenza in Goregaon East, for dangerous driving on September 28. According to reports, Arora was spotted at 2:43 pm near Pole No. 75, North Channel, operating his Innova at excessive speed and in a hazardous manner. Officials said his driving endangered not only his own life but also that of other motorists. A legal case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
In another case reported the following day at 11:20 am, a Hyundai Verna collided with a taxi on the sea link while both vehicles were heading towards Bandra. The Verna rammed into the taxi from behind, causing it to overturn. The taxi driver, Amjar Hussain Khan (49), sustained leg injuries, while passenger Devilal Sony suffered a toe bruise. Both were admitted to Bhabha Hospital and are stable.
Shockingly, the driver of the Hyundai fled the spot without stopping, even after being recognised by witnesses believed to be his acquaintances. Police have registered a case of reckless driving against him and are reviewing surveillance footage to trace his whereabouts.
The taxi, owned by Mashaa Shaikh of Tardeo, was badly damaged. Authorities said the incidents highlight the dangers of careless driving and assured that strict legal action will follow against the offenders.
